Cairo Criminal Court sentenced on Tuesday 63 defendants to 15 years in prison and five others to 10 years over riots in Azbakeya district, which took place during celebrations of 6 October war victory in 2013.
The defendants were accused of premeditated murder, trying to break into Tahrir Square, assaulting citizens, resisting authorities and damaging public and private properties.
The defendants also damaged the metro wall, facade of Al-Gomhouriya newspaper building, hampered public transportations means traffic and destroyed police vehicles.
