Six police officers were injured on Tuesday when their vehicle hit a lamp post in northern al-Kharga city in the New Valley governorate.
The head of the New Valley Security Directorate, Maj. Gen. Ahmed abd el-Ghaffar, was notified of the incident, which occurred near the archaeological area of al-Bagawat, and immediately order police, ambulance and civil protection vehicles to the scene.
The injured officers have been transferred to the Kharga General Hospital for treatment.
Security sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the incident occurred after the driver lost control of the steering wheel and collided with the street light.
