The Agouza chief prosecutor on Sunday sentenced 52 Muslim Brotherhood members to 15 days in prison pending investigation for staging riots in Mostafa Mahmoud Square during the celebration of the third anniversary of the revolution.
The protests left two people dead and 20 others wounded, when security tried dispurse the crowds.
The first victim was Sharif Abu Haggag, 23, who died from a gunshot wound in the abdomen, and the second was student Mohamed al-Menshawy, who died from a shot in the chest.
The suspects are accused of attempting murder, possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition, attacking public and private property and terrorizing citizens.
They are also accused of besieging a police station for nearly two hours and trying to storm it.
