500 plays stolen from Egyptian television union, posted on Internet

The Media Content Committee of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) said 500 recorded Egyptian, Arab and international plays were stolen from the building in Maspero and posted on the Internet in clear violation of copyrights, as confirmed by ERTU Secretary General Mohsen Noaman.

Noaman said the ERTU will take legal action against hackers, adding that the ERTU met with Google officials responsible for North Africa and the Middle East for that purpose.

The secretary general also said the ERTU has posted a channel on YouTube to display heritage material, which will result in a high number of viewers rates and good returns.

Among the stolen plays were “Al Ragol Alazy Yorid An Yadhak” and “Sekket al-Salama.”
