Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Waly said on Tuesday that 50 Muslim Brotherhood-linked NGOs have been disbanded in five governorates, including 23 in the Beheira, 14 in Fayoum, nine in Beni Suef, three in Gharbiya and one in Cairo.
The minister said the disbandment was in accordance with the ruling of the Cairo Court of Urgent Matters prohibiting activities and seizing property of Brotherhood associations.
The minister has also dissolved the boards of 27 associations in six governorates, including five in Minya, 11 in Qena, two in northern Sinai, seven in Luxor and one in both Fayoum and Dakahliya, but kept the activities so as not to stop serving the community.
She said the ministry will continue to carry out court rulings against associations that change the activities that they were originally licensed to perform.
A total of 420 associations have so far been dissolved by court orders.
