East Alexandria Prosecution on Monday ordered the detention of 43 Muslim Brotherhood supporters for 15 days pending investigations for their involvement in clashes that erupted in the city and led to the injury of 20 people.
The defendants are charged with using violence against security personnel, joining a terrorist organization and undermining public security and peace.
Clashes broke out in several areas in Alexandria when marches toured the city on the anniversary of the 6 October War to condemn the “military coup.” Security forces dispersed several of those protesters in San Stefano, Gleem, Sidi Beshr and Borg al-Arab.
