Thirty-seven suspects were arrested during a security raid in Arish, North Sinai, on Tuesday, security sources have said.
The sources added that the suspects include four who are already wanted by police, while the rest will be checked for criminal records.
The borders of North Sinai were closed to non-residents on Monday and will remain that way until Friday as part of a broader security plan coinciding with the celebrations of Police Day and the fifth anniversary of the 2011 uprising, sources said.
Most of North Sinai has been under a state of emergency since October 2013, when a deadly attack on an army checkpoint killed at least 30 soldiers.
