Member of the National Viral Hepatitis Committee Dr. Yehia al-Shazly announced that 30,000 packs of the new drug Daklinza for the treatment of Hepatitis C have arrived in Egypt.
Patients will be treated with the new medicine on state expenses at medical centers starting in November, he added.
Shazly denied there is a shortage of the Solvadi drug, saying it is available at medical centers.
Health Minister Ahmed Emad instructed the National Viral Hepatitis Committee in a meeting Wednesday to eliminate as quick as possible the waiting list of Hepatitis C patients through the use of the new drug.
