Thirty people were injured in clashes during the second session of former President Hosni Mubarak's trial, Egypt's health minister said Monday.
The violence between Mubarak loyalists and families of protesters killed during the revolution erupted early Monday outside the Police Academy in the Fifth Settlement, north Cairo, where the trial took place.
Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, are being tried on charges of killing protesters, squandering public money, and involvement in exporting gas to Israel at low prices.
Adel al-Adawy, the deputy health minister, said 20 of those injured received treatment on the spot. Seven were taken to the National Bank of Egypt’s hospital and three to New Cairo hospital.
