The South Cairo Court has announced that it will approve the paperwork for 30 candidates in the Gamaliya constituency.
Among the candidates are 20 independents and 10 candidates from different parties, including the Nour Party, the Free Egyptians Party, the Arab Nasserist Party, the Al-Geel Party and the Conference Party.
The most prominent candidates are former MP Hedar al-Baghdady, belly dancer Sama al-Masry and Arab Nasserist Party candidate Mohamed Abdel Hafiz.
Conflict between parliamentary hopefuls started early when Baghdady and Masry exchanged accusations. Masry accused Baghdady of threatening that he would prevent her from entering the Gamaliya constituency, while Baghdady accused her of insulting him.
