Minya security forces on Tuesday arrested 27 suspects allegedly involved in attacking police stations, public establishments and churches.
Police also said they secured 16 firearms that were looted from the police stations of al-Adwa, Matay, Samallout and Mallawi after being stormed and robbed during riots that erupted in the governorate, following the sit-in dispersals of Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda squares in Cairo and Giza.
The suspects were referred to prosecution and remain in custody for 15 days pending interrogations.
