As many as 224 Egyptians have come back from Libya via Salloum border crossing over the past 24 hours, said Matrouh Security chief Hisham Lotfy on Friday.
In press statements, he underlined that 40 of the returnees had illegally crossed the border.
He added that he ordered their arrival measures to be swiftly finalized.
Libya has been witnessing a security vacuum and a state of chaos since the overthrow of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
