2 children, teen die in Minya collision

The Minya Security Directorate said on Monday that two children and the driver of a motorcycle were killed on Thursday in a car collision in front of Sheikh Zayad village in Minya governorate.

Police claimed that a pickup truck collided with the motorcycle on the Ring Road, resulting in the death of Marwan (5 years old), Nawal (6 years old), and the driver of the motorcycle, Sayed Mammdouh (14 years old).

The victims were transferred to the morgue of the Public Maghagha Hospital, police reported.

Police completed a report of the collision and notified the public prosecution to complete investigations.

The Central Agency for the Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed in May 2018 that the number of car accidents that occurred in 2017 reached 11,098 incidents, declining by 24.6 percent from 14,710 incidents in 2016
