19 students held pending Tahrir clashes investigations released on bail

Abdeen Misdemeanor Court released on Thursday 19 students on LE5,000 bail.

The students, who were arrested pending Tahrir clashes incidents, belonged to the Muslim Brotherhood. They marched from Cairo University to Tahrir in demonstrations against interim government and military.

Student protests gained momentum after the killing of Mohamed Reda from the faculty of engineering at Cairo University, who witnesses say was killed by security forces on campus during clashes with the police. Forensic authorities on Monday claimed Reda was killed by his colleagues as the bullets left in his body do not match those used by the security forces.

Qasr al-Nil prosecution earlier started investigations with 21 suspects for rioting in Tahrir and Talaat harb Street on Sunday and assaulting security troops.
