The Ministry of Education said it is fully prepared to receive 18,350,000 students as the new school year kicks off Monday after the end of the Islamic Eid al-Adha feast on Sunday.
Nearly 1.5 million teachers at 49,500 schools are prepared for the new year, according to the ministry, which said it had coordinated with the Interior Ministry to secure educational facilities.
The ministry asked that school administrations check and evaluate visitor IDs and not allow for any “partisan or political” discussions in order to “ensure students are not implicated in political and partisan conflicts.”
Schools were also told to prohibit the painting of political, religious or sports fans slogans on school walls.
