On Monday, Public Prosecutor Hesham Barakat referred 163 people affiliated to the Daboud and Beni Helal tribes in Aswan to trial over alleged involvement in the bloody clashes that took place in April.
The event left 25 people dead and dozens injured.
At least 97 of the suspects are fugitives.
The prosecution has accused the suspects of premeditated murder, resisting authorities, robbery, abduction and possession of arms.
In April, clashes broke out between villagers of Daboud and Beni Helal tribes reportedly after a girl from one of the tribes was harassed by a man from the other tribe.
Murder, kidnappings and burning of houses continued for a number of days following the incident.
