Sixteen Muslim Brotherhood supporters were sentenced by the Nasr City Misdemeanor Court to three years in prison for their involvement in clashes that occurred on Mostafa al-Nahas Street, Nasr City, last December.
The defendants challenged a former ruling sentencing them to five years hard labor in prison, which was then reduced to three years in Tuesday's session.
The court accused the defendants of riotting, thuggery, assaulting policemen, resisting authorities, protesting without permission, joining a terrorist organization, sabotaging public and private property and possessing Molotov cocktails.
