Security forces in North Sinai's Rafah City conducted an 8-hour raid on Thursday on Egypt-affliated Islamic State militant hotbeds, leading to the killing of 15 militants, according to a security source.
Security forces also raided different areas in south Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah on Thursday in search of militants, the source added.
Eyewitnesses said that warplanes launched several air strikes on terrorist outposts in Baala, Dawaran al-Tank and Masoura areas, south and west Rafah City.
Smoke was seen overhead and the sound of explosions were heard in the areas, according to eyewitnesses.
