On Wednesday, Red Sea Criminal Court sentenced 16 defendants to prison and acquitted 14 others in the case where Safaga police station was stormed and burned to free detainees and steal weapons and ammunition.
The session was held amid tight security measures.
Jail terms ranged from one year to 15 years.
The case dates back to 2 May 2012, where 24 suspects were arrested, while six managed to escape.
