Journalists Against Torture released a report on Thursday claiming that there has been a total of 132 violations against press freedom in Novemeber.
Seven violations were recorded in the first week of November, 20 in the second, 24 in the third and 81 in the fourth, according to the organization's report.
Sixty of these violations were against journalists while covering the parliamentary elections.
According to the report, 75 cases of preventing journalists from reporting were recorded in November, 13 cases of verbal assault and threats, 12 detention cases, seven claims filed against journalists, six cases of physical assault, six cases of seizing the equipment of journalists, five cases of arrest pending investigation, two cases of destroying journalists' equipment, two cases of fining journalists, one case of releasing a journalist on bail, one case of referring a journalist to a disciplinary board, one case of publication ban and one case of storming a journalist's house.
Thirty-five violations were by state officials, 27 by police and army forces and 27 by civilians.
The majority of violations occurred in Cairo with 85 cases, followed by North Sinai with eight cases, Assiut with seven cases, Giza with six cases, Monufiya and Kafr al-Sheikh with five cases each, Red Sea and Daqahlia with three cases each, Alexandria and Ismailia with two cases each, and finally Fayoum, Qaliubiya, Port Said, Sharqiya, Minya and Luxor with one case each.
