Ten persons drowned, seven were injured and an unknown number of persons were missed on Friday evening as a truck fell into the Nile river in Minya, medical and security sources said.
The truck, transferring dozens of commuters on the way to a funeral, fell on Friday into the river in the marina of Al-Awaysa village, the sources added.
The bodies of the dead were recovered and the injured were transferred to Samallout Hospital.
Authorities are still searching for the missing victims.
