Sisi’s first presidential statement to be aired on TV

 
 
Field Marshal abdel Fattah al-Sisi is working on his first presidential statement, expected to be aired to Egyptians via TV, after security reasons prevented him from giving the statement at a major square in Cairo.
 
Sources close to Sisi said that he will express a strong stance on issues that Egyptians fear and that he will not let any interest group approach him or influence his decisions. The sources said that the speech will identify the form of his four-year term in office.
 
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the sources said the speech will disclose features of Egypt’s "new politics" that reject following the West and adopt national independence. It will also outline how policies handling social issues, the private sector and businessmen.
 
According to sources, the speech that Sisi insisted on writing himself will be recorded and aired after he takes the oath. It will include issues of security and economy.
 
In related news, Mahmoud Karem, the general coordinator of Sisi’s presidential campaign, is drafting a final report on the performance of the campaign. It will include responses to accusations levelled against the campaign regarding lack of communication with people.
