Presidential hopeful Hamdeen Sabbahi criticized violations on Tuesday that took place at several notary offices nationwide on Monday and Tuesday.
In a statement on Tuesday, Sabbahi said, “We have followed closely the clear and frequent violations over the past two days of biased employees at several notary offices, in addition to cases of preventing issuance of proxies at other offices, which threatens seriousness of the electoral process and shows the state institutions as supporting to one candidate against the other.”
Sabbahi blamed the government and Justice Ministry over any violations. He also called on Interior Ministry to secure the notary offices to facilitate issuance of proxies to everyone.
