Seventy-nine percent of Egyptians intend to vote in the parliamentary elections slated for 22 March-7 May, according to a recent, independent opinion poll conducted by the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research (Baseera).
Thirty-five percent of Egyptians are willing to allow religious parties to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, while nearly one half (47 percent) reject the idea, it said.
Meanwhile, the eagerness for voting is higher among less educated respondents. “The percentage is lower among the more educated, being 81 percent among those with less than intermediate education compared to 72 percent among those with university education,” said the report which covered a sample of 2020 citizens aged 18 years old and above during 13-15 January, 2015.
