Medhat Zahid, vice president of the People's Alliance Party, said the team of lawyers in Shaima al-Sabagh's murder case decided to include in their case Al-Masry Al-Youm's report on police violations entitled “Holes in the Police Uniform,” which talked about Sabagh's death.
He told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Tuesday that it reported the Interior Ministry's practices without exaggeration and in all professionalism and impartiality.
Zahis said the report aimed to say that the Interior Ministry belongs to the people in the first place and should correct its policies with regards to human rights and know that the policies that were practiced before the January 25 revolution cannot be repeated.
He demanded that the ministry develop strategies, other than torture and repression, to obtain information .
