Dr. Mohamed Sayed a-Ghazlany, a Muslim Brotherhood member, died in a prison hospital due to high blood pressure and liver disease, according to an official security source.
The defendant was arrested in Alexandria October of last year after his escape from the Kerdasa region. He faces charges of planning and participating in the Kerdasa police station events, which took place last August and resulted in the death of 11 officers.
The prosecution accused him of the murder of the 11 officers, the attempted murder of the other injured officers, attempting to occupy a government building, possessing heavy weapons and forming a terrorist group to terrorize citizens.
