Libyan official denies killing of Egyptians at common borders with Tunisia

Official spokesperson of the Libyan joint security force, Zawara abi Kamash, denied news over circulated in media over killing of seven Egyptians at the borders with Tunisia as a result of stampede.

Abu Kamash told the Libyan news agency on Friday that no Egyptians were killed at the border area adding that consulate efforts are being made to Egyptians who want to leave Libya to Tunisia then to Egypt. He called on media to be accurate in circulating news.

News websites had earlier reported the deaths of seven Egyptians at the border between Libyan and Tunisia.

The Tunisian news agency reported that the Egyptians were killed as result of shooting by the Libyan troops as they tried to break into the gates bordering Tunisia.
