Egypt confronting the Yemeni people is unacceptable, argued Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Emir Hussein Abdel Lahian.
The Iranian Mehr news agency quoted Lahian as telling the head of the Egyptian Affairs Office in Tehran, Khaled Oda, that what is happening now in Yemen is very complicated and dangerous, and requires vigilance by all parties, adding that Iran supports close ties between Egypt and Yemen.
He also said that the ongoing war against Yemen now is a deep swamp that has dangerous consequences, and that the extension of the fire threatens the security of the whole region.
"We expect Egypt, which is an Islamic and Arab country, to accelerate a political solution in Yemen and stop the continuing killings and the expanding of confrontations," he said.
