Egypt’s budget deficit for Jul-Sep 2015 increases 19% to LE78.3: Finance Ministry

Egypt’s overall budget deficit  jumped 19 percent  to reach LE 78.3 billion (2.8 percent GDP)) for July-September  2015, compared to LE 65.8 billion (2.6 percent  of GDP) during the same period last year, according to a report by the Finance Ministry.

Total revenues jumped from 31 percent to LE 100 billion (3.5 percent of GDP) during July-September 2015, compared to LE 76.5 billion (3.1 percent of GDP) during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, total expenditures increased from 20.6 percent to LE 169.9 billion (6 percent of GDP) during July-September 2015, compared to LE 140.9 billion (5,8 percent of GDP) during the same period last year.
