Border troops arrested 31 people at an east Qantara ferry security checkpoint as they attempted to enter Egypt illegally south of the Salloum exit on the western border with Libya.
The infiltrators included 14 Egyptians, 10 Sudanese nationals, 5 Bangladeshis, a Syrian and a Palestinian.
Meanwhile, troops also seized two machine guns and ammunition in the Al-Ghar mountain area on the southern border.
Authorities also seized a sail boat loaded with 48 sacks of marijuana weighing three tons as well as ammunition, north of Ras Ghareb city.
