Belly dancer Sama al-Masry on Thursday applied to run in the election of the House of Representatives on behalf of the Azbakeya constituency after passing the medical examination.
“The people of Azbakeya asked me to,” she said. “I do not yet have a specific program.”
She said she will fight for women’s rights. “Women played an important role fighting terrorism in the 30 June demonstrations,” she added.
