Ahmed Ghoneim, head of the Strong Egypt Party elections committee, said that Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh is running for president of the party, with Ahmed Fawzy for secretary general.
He added that there are 88 candidates competing for 49 seats in the politbureau, explaining that there should be 12 runners under the age of thirty.
“The elections will be held on 13 February,” he said.
Aboul Fotouh unsuccessfully ran for president in 2012 after he was kicked out of the Muslim Brotherhood.
