Hot, dusty weather across Egypt continues on Saturday, EMA warns

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of hot, dusty weather conditions on Saturday.

Hot weather is predicted during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, warm on the northern coasts, and growing very hot in southern Upper Egypt.

The weather will remain cold in the northern parts of the country, growing moderate in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

The governorates of southern Upper Egypt will continue to be exposed to the dust storm that began on Friday.

Light to moderate rain and occasional thunderstorms are expected within the Red Sea mountain ranges, South Sinai, the Gulf of Aqaba, central and southern Upper Egypt, with possible torrential rains in some areas.

Active winds are expected in all areas, especially in open areas, at intervals, and sometimes reach the extent of a dust storm.

The EMA recommended citizens out in the streets to wear facemasks in order to prevent dust inhalation.

Areas within South Sinai, the Gulf of Aqaba, the Red Sea mountain ranges, and central and southern Upper Egypt will likely witness light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, with possible torrential rains.

Wind activity could reach up to 32 km/h, with cloudy weather prevailing.
