FM Heads for Athens to Boost Bilateral Ties

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry heads for Athens, on Sunday 19/5/2024, for talks on means of enhancing bilateral ties alongside a host of regional and international issues, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The visit falls within the framework of the strategic cooperation between Egypt and Greece, he said, underlining keenness of both sides on enhancing bilateral ties.

The visit is meant to review regional and international developments, topped by the war in Gaza.

Shoukry will hold a number of important meetings, topped by a meeting with his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis.

Shoukry will also convene with Chairman of the Greek Copelouzos Group, Dimitrios Copelouzos, within the context of following up on the progress realized so far in implementing the power linkage project between Egypt and Greece, the spokesman said.

Shoukry will also hold interviews with the Greek media, added the spokesman.
