A large fire broke out on a tourist boat on Saturday in the Red Sea close to Hurghada’s al-Qyadat area. Naval authorities could not confirm whether or not there were people on the vessel.
Chief of the Rescue and Environmental Protection Society (REPS), Hassan al-Tayeb, said that the boat caught fire near a coral reef area in Hurghada and that naval authorities inspected the boat in the early hours of Sunday.
Security sources stated that rescue and rapid intervention forces were dispatched to the scene of the event to search for potential causalities.
