A Giza prosecutor ordered the detention of singer Shimaa Ahmed, also known as Shyma, for four days pending an investigation on charges of “incitement to debauchery” following the release of her video “Andi zoroof,” or “I have girl issues”.
Shyma was arrested in the al-Nozha area on Saturday, and was then sent to prosecution.
The singer admitted to wrongdoing but defended herself saying, “I had the best intentions at heart, but was seduced by fame.”
The prosecution accuses her of committing a “shameful act”, a crime punishable by a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a LE 300 fine.
She is also accused of committing a “shameful act in public,” which is punishable by a maximum sentence of three years in jail.
“Andi Zorouf” gained 150,000 views on youtube within just 24 hours after its release.
