Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou said on Wednesday that he aims to achieve a growth rate of 20 percent in tourism, which is a considerable increase in international terms that score five percent at the most.
“We lost two million tourists in 2013 compared to 2012,” he said during his visit to London.
“We will focus on traditional attraction destinations, such as Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh,” he said. “Tourists will not venture to visit new destinations now.”
“We may add the northern coast in 2015 because we have four airports there,” he said, adding that tourism revives 70 other industries. “Its return means the return of the whole economy.”
