US Secretary of State John Kerry will arrive in Cairo on Tuesday for talks with several senior officials including his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, the official MENA news agency reported.
A 13-person delegation from Washington arrived to Cairo through Germany on Monday night to prepare for Kerry's visit. The delegation includes senior officials from the State Department, particularly in the field of security and specialists of the region.
Shokry made a phone call on Sunday with Kerry within discussions over the current situation in Gaza as Israeli military operations have been taking place for a week against Hamas.
They also tackled efforts made by Egypt to stop the Israeli attacks to end the excessive use of force against Hamas and reach ceasefire agreement.
